Hello, some feedback on Rubine Forza fan… this has LED light and remote control. Appearance quite good. However, the biggest drawback is that main power switch only operates the fan, not the light. Hmm…. why do we buy fan with light…? to light up the room so as to be able to find the remote control and not fall over stuff on the floor…. Rubine confirm that main switch only operates the fan…. Why not both fan and light or just the light? Most important is to be able to see where you are going. Don’t care that the fan is on in the dark if we can’t find the remote control….

Imho, the Bayu 4 fan is not as good as the cheaper Panasonic fan w/o remote. I’ve had problems with the motor of two Bayu 4 fans. One unit’s speed was slow since the day it was purchased and the 2nd unit started getting slow after 8 years. I’ve had to replace both motors. The ones w/o remote have been working fine. Am looking for an alternative.

Initially I just shrugged them off since I always had this impression that KDK was the best when it comes to fans, but when all my brother’s KDK fans that were installed in his relatively new home became squeaky after a few months of usage, I started to have doubts. He called KDK for service, but they say he has to pay for them to come check first, then if there’s anything to fix, they will charge further as appropriately.

Taking average rate (TNB Tariff for 200-300kWh), 33.40 sen/kWh
Saving per hour for 20W is 0.027kW x 33.40 sen = RM0.009 per hour
10 Hours of usage per day = RM0.09 per day
Saving per year, 365 days = RM32.85 per year
Actually, the usage per day should be established earlier so…. this the theoretical calculation.
Step by step:
1) Power consumption of the DC ceiling fan = 27W per hour
2) Assumption of 10 hours usage per day = 27W x 10 hours = 270 Watt hours per day
3) If you take account of an average 30 day month = 270Wh x 30 days = 8100 Wh @ 8.1kWh
4) Only then you refer to TNB tariff code. Just for the sake of calculation, we assume that your house has 1 DC ceiling fan and no other appliances contributing to electricity bill, that would fall under the first tariff code of 21.80 sen per kWh because your usage is within 1 – 200kWh usage.
Therefore, your monthly bill should reflect
21.80 sen x 8.1kWh = RM1.77 (rounded to 2 decimal points) per month
or RM21.24 per year
Of course if you factor in all other appliances the bill amount would be different… lol
